The Living Room Cinema Liphook is an independent cinema designed for comfort, connection and great storytelling. Intimate, relaxed and quietly luxurious, it’s a space to settle in, switch off, and enjoy film at its best.
Our programme brings together the latest releases with great family films, independent titles, classics and world cinema carefully curated and thoughtfully presented. But what matters just as much is everything around it: the atmosphere, the welcome, the sense that this is your place.
At the heart of it all is our fantastic team. Led by General Manager Asa, they’re a group of genuinely warm, local faces who take real pride in what they do. They’ll remember your favourite seat, your go-to drink, and always have time for a chat making every visit feel easy, familiar and personal.
Whether it’s a regular visit or something more spontaneous, it’s a space that quickly feels like yours. You might come for a film, but you’ll likely stay for something more.

OUR STORY
The Living Room Cinema began in 2017, when founder and CEO Claire Beswick set out to bring a cinema back to her hometown of Liphook. A thriving community with not only no cinema, but no central beacon in the village centre, and in real need of one.
With over two decades in the cinema industry, Claire believes a cinema could be more than just a place to watch films. It becomes part of the rhythm of your everyday life: a place people return to often, where faces become familiar, and where the experience feels personal.
After years of development (and an 18-month pause during the pandemic), The Living Room Cinema Liphook opened in April 2022 with a charity gala screening of Downton Abbey: A New Era, attended by the cast and director.
Since then, it has grown into exactly what was imagined: a true home from home. A place where guests return time and again, where the team knows your order, and where film sits alongside everything from Q&As and private events to quizzes, tastings and community gatherings.
We’re proud to be part of Liphook’s centre supporting local suppliers, working with charities, and building something that feels rooted, familiar and here to stay.
